Everyday Dal, Yellow Lentils, Tomato & Garlic, Mild
USDA Organic. Certified organic by Oregon Tilth. Non-GMO Project verified. nongmoproject.org. Plant-based protein. Ready in 90 seconds. Separation is natural. This recipe is inspired by Dal Tarka, made with flavorful yellow lentils, garlic, tomato and turmeric. The term tarka refers to a step where spices are fried and added to the pot for extra flavor. It's Indian comfort food at its best! Dal is the Indian term for beans simmered with spices to make a thick stew. These cooked dals are a staple across India, and each region infuses them with its own flavorful traditions. Keep our favorite versions on hand for those times you want a plant-based meal without a fuss. I bring a fresh perspective to my delicious heritage, inviting you to experience the beautiful complexity of Indian food and share it with the people you love. - Maya Kamal, Julia Child Award-Winning Cookbook Author. mayakaimal.com.
