Cooking Instructions: Stove Top: 1. Bring water (or milk) and salt to a boil. Stir in oats. 2. Cook about 5 minutes over medium heat or until thickened. Stir occasionally. 3. Stir before serving. Stove Top: 1 Serving: 1 cup water (or milk); 1/2 cup oats; dash of salt (optional). 2 Servings: 1-3/4 cups water (or milk); 1 cup oats; 1/8 tsp of salt (optional). 6 Servings: 5 cups water (or milk); 3 cups oats; 1/4 tsp of salt (optional). Microwave: 1 Serving: 1 cup water (or milk); 1/2 cup oats; dash of salt (optional). Microwave: 1. For 1 serving, combine water (or milk), salt, and oats in medium microwave-safe bowl. 2. Microwave on high about 2-1/2 to 3 minutes or until thickened. 3. Stir before serving. For thicker oatmeal use less water (or milk). For thinner oatmeal use more water (or milk). Due to differences in microwave ovens, cooking time is approximate.
