Rosado, Southern Oregon, 2008
The beautiful color, fresh aromas, and elegant texture of this wine resulted from a three day cold soak with stainless steel fermentation utilizing only free run juice. This dry wine features distinctive aromas of flowers, fresh strawberries and pomegranates followed by flavors of red cherries, raspberries, and spice. Moderate acidity balances the fruit as the minerality develops and evolves. More than just a fun wine, this Rosado will pair with a variety of tapas, light summer fare and spicy Asian dishes. The accomplishments of Abacela, a vineyard and winery under the Oregon sun with Spanish and Portuguese wine styles, like this Rosado, has established our reputation as America's modem era pioneer and leading producer of native Iberian varietal wines - Earl and Hilda Jones, proprietors; Andrew Wenzl, winemaker.
