Committed to aging and fermenting wine in French Oak barrels, Jess purchased a stave mill in Northeastern France in 1991, making Kendall-Jackson the only American winery to share ownership in a French stave mill. One year later, Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay became the #1 selling Chardonnay in America and remains so to this day.
