Founded October 31, 1907, the historic Tulane Avenue landmark houses one of the twelve remaining regional breweries in America and is, in fact, the only privately held, family-owned regional brewery in the South. As the sole survivor of New Orleans' once flourishing beer industry, Dixie continues to ignore the speeded-up process used by most large American breweries today. Instead, the traditional slow-brewed, hands-on method is maintained in each step of our unique brewing process. Capturing the essence of our proud Southern traditions, the beers of Dixie are characteristic of the gracious charm and the joy of living so inherent in our New Orleans way of life.
