Red Table Wine, Octagon, Virginia, 2006
Ninth edition. Virginia historic red. James Barbour Estate Plan. Designed by Thomas Jefferson in 1814. Created only in the finest vintages, Octagon is a harmonious blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. For this special wine we have reproduced on the label the floor plan of the Governor James Barbour mansion, designed by Thomas Jefferson. The octagonal dining room located inside the ruins was where good friends gathered and enjoyed great wines. For this reason we chose the ruins as the symbol of Barboursville Vineyards, and Octagon as the name of this wine. Alcohol 13.5% by vol. Produced and bottled by Barboursville Vineyards, Barboursville Virginia.
