Meal Prep 101: Quinoa
Prepping quinoa gives you a base start to any meal. Use quinoa throughout your week in stir frys, stews, morning breakfast porridge, salads, as a side....it is hearty, filling, delicious, AND healthy! Remember, prepping food gives you future power!
- 3 cups uncooked O Organics™ Quinoa
- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 6 cups water
Rinse quinoa with cool water in a fine mesh strainer for 1-2 minutes.
Add rinsed quinoa, salt and water to a 4 quart pot. Bring to a boil covered over medium heat.
Reduce heat to simmer for about 15 minutes. Keep covered and remove from heat. Let stand for 5 minutes then fluff with fork (all the germ should be separated from the seed, creating tiny spirals.)
Let cool and place in airtight containers in the refrigerator to use during the week.
All recipe ingredients should be cooked to a safe internal temperature according to USDA guidelines. After preparing a recipe, please store any leftovers in the refrigerator.
