Defining
Our Terms
When we say
"minority" or "minority group", we mean those
individuals who are citizens of the United States (or lawfully-admitted
permanent residents) and are in the following racial/ethnic groups:

African-American
or Black: persons having origins in any of the black racial
groups. |
| • |
Hispanic:
All persons of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Central American,
or other Spanish cultures or origins, regardless of race. |
| • |
Asian
or Pacific Islander: All persons having origins in any of the
original peoples of the Far East, Southeast Asia, The Indian
Subcontinent, or the Pacific Islands. This area includes, for
example, China, India, Japan, Korea, the Philippine Islands
and Samoa. |
| • |
American
Indian or Alaskan Native: All persons having origins in any
of the original peoples of North America, and who maintain cultural
identification through tribal affiliation or community recognition. |
We define a
minority-owned or women-owned business as one:

• |
that
is at least 51% owned by minorities or women, |
| • |
whose
management and daily business operations are controlled by one
or more women or members of a minority group, and |
| • |
that,
if publicly owned, has one or more women or members of a minority
group owning 51% (or controlling share) of the stock. |
