How are Reward Points* earned?
It's easy to earn Reward Points* just by shopping at Safeway with your Club Card:
• Every $1 spent on groceries* = 1 point
• Every $1 spent on qualifying gift cards* = 4 points
• Every $1 spent on pharmacy items* = 1 point
• Every $1 spent on groceries* = 1 point
• Every $1 spent on qualifying gift cards* = 4 points
• Every $1 spent on pharmacy items* = 1 point
How do Reward Points* save money at the pump?
Every 100 points gets you a 10¢ per gallon Reward for a single fill-up at a Safeway gas station. You can use your points in increments of 100:
• 100 points = 10¢ per gallon Reward
• 200 points = 20¢ per gallon Reward
• 500 points = 50¢ per gallon Reward
• 1000 points = $1 per gallon Reward
• 100 points = 10¢ per gallon Reward
• 200 points = 20¢ per gallon Reward
• 500 points = 50¢ per gallon Reward
• 1000 points = $1 per gallon Reward
Do I have to pay any kind of membership fee?
No! Our Reward Points* program is free. Just use your Club Card when you shop!
How do I keep track of my points?
You can track your points on your store receipts, or by registering online at Safeway.com and clicking the My Account link at the top of the page.
How do I use my points?
Just follow the pump screen prompts. After you enter your Club Card number at the pump, you can select to use all the Rewards you have earned or you can select not to use any Rewards at that time.
Do my Rewards expire?
Yes, Rewards expire at the end of the following month in which they were earned. For example, Rewards earned in January can be used through the end of February. Points earn Rewards in increments of 100 (100 points = a 10¢ per gallon Reward). At the end of each month, any points less than 100 expire.
Which Gift Card purchases earn points?
Qualifying Gift Card purchases made with your Club Card earn points. Excluded are American Express, PayPower, MasterCard, My Choice, Safeway, Visa, Only 1 Visa, NetSpend and RE-loadit Gift Cards.
Which pharmacy purchases earn points?
Every $1 spent on pharmacy items with your Club Card earns 1 point. This includes your out-of-pocket costs for new, transferred and refilled prescriptions.
Are there limits to how many points can be earned?
No, you can earn an unlimited number of points during each month and your points can be used through the end of the following month. Each month is a separate earning period; previous and current months’ points do not combine.
Are there limits to how many points can be used?
Yes, there is a limit of 1000 points for a $1 per gallon Reward in a single fill-up (10 Rewards for 10¢ per gallon each). However, any additional Rewards you have earned can still be used through the end of the following month in which they were earned. Savings are limited to 25 gallons in a single fill-up and a limit of 1 vehicle per transaction.
Can I choose not to use my Reward Points* at the pump?
Yes, after you enter your Club Card number or phone number at the pump, you can select to use all the Rewards you have earned or you can select not to use any Rewards at that time.
Do I have to register to earn Reward Points*?
No, you can start using the program just by shopping with your Club Card. Don’t have a Card? Sign up at any of our stores or online at Safeway.com
