How does the program work?
You can earn air miles just by shopping at Safeway stores in the state of Alaska with your Safeway Club Card. Once you enroll online at safeway.com, you will receive 100 miles for every $300 you spend on eligible purchases.
How do I know if my purchase was applied towards earning miles?
You can track your total qualified purchase amount on the bottom of your Safeway receipts.
What if I don’t have an Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan™ account?
To set up an account, visit alaskaair.com. Once set-up is complete, you may then enroll at safeway.com in the My Account section to start earning miles for your qualified purchases at Safeway stores in Alaska.
Is this program only available in Alaska?
While the Program is open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years old or older, you can only earn Alaska Air Mileage Plan miles by shopping at participating Safeway stores located in Alaska, on qualified purchases.
What if I don’t live or shop in Alaska?
Unfortunately, you cannot accumulate mileage points for purchases made in other states at this time.
Can I earn miles in any store?
You can accrue miles at participating Safeway stores in Alaska.
I previously participated in this program. Do I need to enroll again?
Yes, each year during the enrollment period announced by Safeway, you need to re-enroll to continue earning miles.
Why do I need to enroll again?
Annual enrollment allows us to improve our program benefits by focusing on the most current and active participants.
Why did the mileage accrual rate change?
We’re constantly looking for ways to improve our programs. Rate changes allow us to enhance our bonus mileage promotions and give you new opportunities to accrue miles.
How can I sign up?
If you already have an Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan account, you can enroll by visiting safeway.com and completing and submitting all required information on the registration page.

Why do I have to register at safeway.com in order to enroll in the Safeway program with the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan™?
Registering will tie your Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan number to your Safeway Club Card account. As Safeway continues to provide program enhancements, registration on the site will provide easy access to special bonus offers on mileage in addition to an easier annual enrollment experience.
What if I don’t have an email address to register at safeway.com?
A valid email address is required to register at safeway.com.
What do I do if the website gives me an error message when I try to enroll?
Contact us at 1-877-723-3929 and we’ll be happy to help resolve the issue.
What happens if I do not enroll during the annual enrollment period?
If you do not re-enroll during the annual enrollment period, your account will terminate under Safeway program in association with the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan and you will no longer be able to earn miles on your qualified purchases. Any amounts you have spent on qualified purchases below $300 will be forfeited for purposes of earning miles.
How long is my enrollment valid?
Enrollment in our program will expire each year. You can continue to participate each year by enrolling annually. Safeway will notify customers when the annual enrollment period begins.
How long does it take to post miles to my account?
Miles earned with your Safeway Club Card are posted to your Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan account within ninety (90) days.
Do miles that I earned expire?
Miles earned at Safeway stores are submitted to Alaska Airlines and will expire based on the terms of the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan program.
How do I redeem miles?
For information about redeeming miles and the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan program generally, please visit alaskaair.com. Miles and redemption of miles are subject to the terms and conditions of the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan program.
We use two or more Club Cards in my house. How does this program work for us?
Only one Safeway Club Card holder per household may enroll in the program at a given time. All of the Club Cards used in one household are typically tied to a single Safeway account. Miles accrued across all household Club Cards will appear as one total on the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan e-statement or My Account page on alaskaair.com for the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan account registered to your Safeway Club Card.
We use two or more Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan™ accounts in my house. How does this program work for us?
At this time, only one (1) Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan account is allowed to accumulate miles per household through the Safeway program.
How can I change or edit the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan™ account number that is registered with my Club Card?
Visit your My Account section on safeway.com. Click on “Loyalty Partners” in the left navigation panel. You will see your Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan account number and enrollment status. Update your Alaska Mileage Plan number and click “Save Changes.”
What purchase exclusions apply?
The following items are not included in qualified purchases for calculation of miles earned: Beer, Wine, Spirits, Tobacco Products, Fuel, All Fluid Dairy items in the Refrigerated Dairy Section (Including Fluid Dairy and Dairy Substitutes), Prescription Items and Co-Payments, Bus/Commuter Passes, Fishing/Hunting Licenses and Tags, Postage Stamps, Money Orders, Money Transfers, Ski Tickets, Amusement Park Tickets, Event Tickets, Lottery Tickets, Phone Cards, Gift Cards, Gift Certificates, Bottle Deposits and Sales Tax.

Can I combine this program with other programs, promotions or offers?
The program cannot be used or exchanged for and cannot be combined with any other program, promotion or offer.
How do I cancel my enrollment in this program?
Customers who wish to cancel their enrollment in the Safeway program in association with the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan will need to contact us at 1-877-723-3929.
