Who doesn’t love the taste-appeal of a crisp and juicy apple?
This fall favorite also supplies fiber, which helps promote digestive health and
antioxidants called “flavonoids,” which may benefit heart health and help keep body cells healthy. To get the most nutrition, eat apples with the peel on (wash well first, of course).
Eating apples “au naturel” is great—and so is using them in these meal and snack ideas:
Add diced apples to hot oatmeal with a few chopped walnuts and a dash of cinnamon.
Layer thin-sliced apples on a turkey and Swiss cheese sandwich for a pleasing crunch.
Snack on apple slices spread with peanut butter or topped with thin-sliced reduced-fat Cheddar cheese.
Add apples to a fall salad. Our current favorite is O Organics™ baby spinach tossed with diced honeycrisp apples, chopped pecans, sliced red onion and Open Nature™ Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing.
Serve apples in a dinner entrée. Your family will love
